A LATAM Brazil Airbus A320-200, registration PR-MHR performing flight LA-3501 from Rio de Janeiro Galeao,RJ to Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil), was in the initial climb out of Galealo's runway 10 when the aircraft received a bird strike prompting the crew to stop the climb at 6000 feet and return to Galeao Airport for a safe landing on runway 15 about 25 minutes after departure.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Rio de Janeiro about 13 hours after landing.
